| The second photo in Lincoln was the Torreon. Built in the late 1850's, its thick walls protected Spanish-Americans against the Apaches. During the Lincoln County War, Muprhy’s sharpshooters were stationed here. In 1937 Chavez County Historical Society undertook restoration of the tower. |
