On the same day as I took the first photo, we (Jim and I), drove to Old Town Albuquerque for the next two photos. We were between soccer games for Sara and Twiggy on this day, so there was no time to linger and enjoy the plaza. After researching information on these photos, I have decided I want to go back to Old town sometime soon and go to the La Placita Dinning Rooms. Looks like it would be a neat place to eat. The fist photo taken in Old Town Plaza was from under a covered walkway looking across the Plaza toward the San Felipe de Neri Church with the gazebo in the frame. I was able to identify this was the site by recognizing the church in the photo after identifying the church (which is the next photo). The old stone gazebo is no longer in the plaza. I have been unable to find out when or why the beautiful stone gazebo was raised. |
